For Show and Tell I have a couple of cool things to share with you. Sam made these Dimorphis Mittens from a pattern she got on Ravelry. They are kind of like mittens within mittens. Very unusual...but neat.
Then she went on a knitting frenzy in making Calorimetries (headbands). The pattern is a free online pattern from Knitty if you'd like to try one. She used sock yarn doubled on a couple of these. I think I might like to make some of these for Christmas gifts next year. They are a great way to lear
n how to do short rows.

Very nice, Sam!

Leigh made this ribbed and ruffled scarf out of Plymouth Baby Alpaca DK yarn. Isn't it pretty! I love working with baby alpaca yarn. I'll have to show you the scarf I'm working on using this yarn once it's finished. Great job, Leigh!
GNOW update...
We still have a few spots left in our Girls' Night Out Workshop on Friday, January 30 from 6-8 pm. Lisa is going to be showing you how to make a Clapotis. This is a dropped stitch shawl/scarf that is very light and airy. You'll be making a mini version that evening so that you learn all of the techniques needed to complete one. Then we'll help you pick out yarns to make either a full size shawl or a scarf. We have a sample of what both a shawl and a scarf look like at the shop. So stop by to see what the finished product looks like and sign up for the class. It should be a fun evening.
